His act may make him look stupid, but:

I hope for his health.. but won't cry too hard if it kills him.

Lawrence, MA mill workers,

Did you know about the Bread and Roses Strike though  ???

When city authorities tried to prevent another 100 children from going to Philadelphia on February 24 by sending police and the militia to the station to detain the children and arrest their parents, the police began clubbing both the children and their mothers and dragged them off to be taken away by truck; one pregnant mother miscarried. The press, there to photograph the event, reported extensively on the attack. Moreover, when the women and children were taken to the Police Court, most of them refused to pay the fines levied and opted for a jail cell, some with babies in arms.

Did he really?    firing the pandemic team, downplaying the threat, ignoring it for SEVENTY DAYS, and now taking no responsibility for the most urgent need - testing.   And further fomenting protests against the advice his own CDC is giving..

Delirious.. seriously what the fuck is wrong, psychologically, with Lou Dobbs?

History Channel talk here guys  ;)

There's so much history this touches on.   In New England there are former mills and mill towns all over the place.    Built from mid 1800s til 1910-ish they are massive stone and brick structures.    Many have been repurposed to offices and lofts, many others torn down.

The Origins of the Union Label

The first record of any sort of union labeling in the United States appears in 1869, when the Carpenter’s Eight-Hour League of San Francisco created a stamp for lumber produced by mills that employed workers for eight hours a day (and not 10, as was then common). Five years later, San Francisco’s cigar makers created the first “union label,” which they affixed to boxes of cigars produced in union shops. Their union hoped consumers would reward employers who employed unionized white workers, as opposed to the Chinese immigrants—derogatorily referred to as “coolies”—who labored in non-union shops. The practice spread across the country in the 1870s and 1880s, promoted by the Cigar Makers’ International Union of America, which also supported the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act (many other unions supported this legislation, particularly those on the West Coast).

Once it spread to NYC it lost it's xenophobic roots

Maybe the U.S. will wake up after
this pandemic and bring factories
back home.
I would be happy to pay more for
American made products to keep
jobs here.

I agree.   That's really the only way, a willingness to pay a little more.

How are we gonna know if you end up like others who said similar things and ended up dead from covid-19?

Looks like Apple is a definite sell on account of their iPhone business is everything to them.   I was a big Apple fan  in the 90s.. I ran a 100% Mac IT shop, 3 Macs at home.. Became less and less a fan after the iPhone because I hate iTunes and their walled garden approach and high cost.  Yes it's quality hardware, I admit it.   Taking away the headphone jack was the final straw for me.  Fuck dongles.

One commie empire down. One to go.

I hope so.   But knowing we don't know what could come next, and knowing where Russia ended up, as great a threat as the Soviet Union, possibly even more lawless and certainly no more trustworthy.

I don't have a lot of respect for the Chinese people's seeming willingness to live under tyranny.
