Home, Gardening, Domestic Life / Any Gardeners Here?

We put in a courtyard a couple of years ago and I'm mainly focusing on ornamentals there, but I'll have a few raised beds for some veggies - love tomatoes just off the vine! And, I grow comfrey, black berries, a handful of herbs, but no cukes or squash this year. In the orchard, the peach trees are in full bloom, but the apple trees are not yet blooming.

What grow ye?

Feedback and Updates on NewsRake / Is There a Way to Post Tweets?

So much of today's news comes from Twitter and I've seen actual tweets posted in other places, but I can't figure out how to do it here.

Do we have that capability?

I mean, so they appear just as they do on Twitter?

General Discussion / Should Migrants be Dumped in Sanctuary Cities?
« on: April 12, 2019, 06:49:55 PM »
I say yes, and not just yes, but HELL YES!

Get ready Peps, you live in a sanctuary city.

These are the cities that offer them sanctuary -- the cities that refuse to comply with our immigration laws -- so, yes -- they deserve the illegals.

In spades.

Pelosi is throwing a true hissy fit over it -- but, you know what?

She earned this.

I can't stop laughing.

LONDON (AP) — What is expected to be an epic legal and political battle over whether to extradite Julian Assange to the U.S. began to take shape, with Britain’s opposition Labour Party urging the government Friday not to hand the WikiLeaks founder over to the Americans.

Party leader Jeremy Corbyn tweeted that the U.S. is prosecuting Assange because he exposed “evidence of atrocities in Iraq and Afghanistan.” Diane Abbott, Labour’s spokeswoman for domestic affairs, said the case is about the “embarrassment of the things he’s revealed about the American military and security services.”

The democrats still think he helped Trump win - and that's the only reason they want him.

This should make you happy, Peps. You never liked the guy, did you? I just wonder what will become of him now.

LONDON (Reuters) - WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was arrested by British police on Thursday after they were invited into the Ecuadorean embassy where he has been holed up since 2012.

In The News / Democrat Indictments as Result of Mueller Investigation?

It appears so -- and they should have known. The Obama white house was up to its ears in the Ukrainian mess - (search for my comments on the subject back when it happened), and the collusion and meddling was far worse than anything Trump has ever even thought of doing.

Expect a new and more focused investigation into the matter.

Let the bodies hit the floor...

A former White House counsel for President Barack Obama expects to be indicted as part of an investigation related to special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into the 2016 election, according to Gregory Craig’s lawyers.

The potential charges against Craig, who served under both Obama and President Bill Clinton, would be over work he did for the Ukrainian government, his lawyers, William W. Taylor, III and William J. Murphy, said in a statement.

In The News / Will Mueller Be Called to Testify?
« on: April 09, 2019, 07:24:57 AM »
That's probably the best of all options. That way, he can explain his report without having to reveal grand jury information.

Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) in a letter on Monday called on Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) to seek Mueller's testimony, rather than going after Attorney General William Barr, arguing that this is the best path to obtaining transparency.

"If you seek both transparency and for the American public to learn the full contours of the Special Counsel’s investigation, public testimony from Special Counsel Mueller himself is undoubtedly the best way to accomplish this goal," Collins wrote to Nadler.

"To that end, Special Counsel Mueller should be invited to testify before the Committee during the week of April 22. Although the House is expected to be in recess that week, I think we can agree this business is too important to wait, and Members of the Committee will surely return to Washington at such a critical moment in our country’s history," Collins continued.

In The News / The Democratic Party Is Radicalizing
« on: April 04, 2019, 05:05:57 AM »
It's been happening for years, but the Atlantic finally picked up on it.

The transformation of the GOP into the party of Patrick J. Buchanan and Donald J. Trump—defined by cultural resentments, crude populism, and ethnic nationalism—is among the most important political stories of this century. But the GOP is hardly the only party that is undergoing some alarming tectonic shifts. Liberals wondering why conservatives who worry about Trump don’t join the Democrats should consider what is happening on their own side of the aisle.

I hope she died a painful death.

Nope, Miss Strong went as a cat—complete with an actual (dead) white feline as a head piece and a gown sewn with the body parts of real kitties.

“The overskirt was made entirely of white cats’ tails sewed on a dark background,” commented the New York Times.

In The News / Democratss Block Disaster Relief Bills
« on: April 02, 2019, 01:10:07 PM »

What's with these morons?

President Trump and Senate Republicans blasted Democrats for blocking a $13.5 billion disaster relief bill that would have helped states affected by flooding, wildfires, and other natural disasters due to disagreement over funding for Puerto Rico.

The measure failed (44-49) to reach the 60 votes needed to proceed to final consideration.

Democrats felt the $600 million for nutrition assistance was not enough to help the island after it was battered by Hurricane Maria.

“Puerto Rico got 91 Billion Dollars for the hurricane, more money than has ever been gotten for a hurricane before, & all their local politicians do is complain & ask for more money. The pols are grossly incompetent, spend the money foolishly or corruptly, & only take from USA,” he tweeted.

This is getting to be a common occurrence, and it's the fault of liberals and the racial division they've created in this country. The kooks (Smollet, included), should be made an example of so this type of thing stops. The racial hatred (and Trump hatred) is alive and well in this man.

ACKSON, Miss. — A member of a black church in Mississippi has pleaded guilty to burning the church, which was also spray painted with the slogan “Vote Trump,” a week before the 2016 presidential election.

Andrew McClinton, 47, pleaded guilty to arson Thursday, the Delta Democrat-Times reported. His sentencing is set for late April.

Investigators said McClinton belonged to Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, which was vandalized and burned.

General Discussion / Do You Believe in Walls?
« on: March 30, 2019, 05:22:38 AM »
Not the kind with studs and drywall...rather, the kind that serves as a barrier to keep unwanted persons from crossing.

A border wall. A barrier that serves to protect you and your loved ones.

So, do you believe in walls? That may seem an odd question but consider...

If you have locks on your doors at home -- you believe in walls.
If you ever lock your automobile doors -- you believe in walls.
If your children go to school where they lock the building after school starts -- you believe in walls.
Any time you advocate a barrier between yourself, your loved ones, and unsavory outside elements -- you believe in walls.

If you want to be able to choose who enters your home, shouldn't your country be able to choose who enters its borders?
