...and all of a sudden they don't appear to want to deport all the Eastern Europeans who are delivering their groceries and still turning up to fix their water, gas and electrical emergencies.

I've got one Muslim immigrant friend who happens to be today risking her own life as a nurse helping covid patients survive.

Corona Virus / Covid hurts the most vulnerable
« on: April 07, 2020, 02:39:29 PM »
I'm busy as hell working from my home office.. 4 story house with my own dedicated floor for a man cave with great view, my wife making coffee and delivering lunch, I go for a bike ride or neighborhood walks for breaks, kids playing GTA and Minecraft all day.    Business is still good for us, and we are coming out with a bunch of solutions to help companies deal with covid.   My neighbor on one side is completely out of work nothing to do, other neighbor also in tech continues working from home.    A good friend was looking for work and now that's just impossible for how long we don't know.

Assuming I nor my mom doesnt die I am on the incredibly lucky spectrum of covid impacts.   As a liberal I guess I am constantly thinking of those who are less fortunate, and so many are out of work and can't pay their bills, let alone dying.    Much of America is already 1 or 2 paychecks away from flat broke.    This troubles me daily.

...and of course this fake self-sufficient libertarian's story ends as they all end, with begging:

I wonder how much they spent on guns leading up to her death.

I can think of folks in this administration who do deserve the firing line, after a fair trail of course

Are tests still only being carried out on those who present themselves with obvious symptoms? How about the local healthcare workers, are they at least now being regularly tested?

Testing is ramping up

They are willing to sacrifice millions to boost the economy and the interest is entirely self-interest: Trump's re-election chances and their grip on power.    In this case they are facing in some cases not only loss of power but also potentially loss of freedom as in federal and state charges.

Business as usual. bud...and the tip of the iceberg.

But it's nothing you and I wouldn't have done if armed with the same inside knowledge...but then again you and I (and the vast majority) do not demand to be recognised as selfless public servants working tirelessly for the good of the nation.

Beyond selling stocks after they were briefed on how bad it would be these senators then made statements minimizing the risk to the public.
