Looks like you unsurprisingly jumped the gun PMF.

Obstruction was very much on the table and up in the air.  Still is.

Oh and Hi Holly!

Sorry dude. You blew that one just as you blow most of your predictions. Mueller didn't file any obstruction charges -- and he won't. You're batting zero.

Released mine to whom? Nobody has asked. I made $67K last year, a portion being capital gains and paid $4,800 in taxes. There now, that wasn't so hard. But I am not the president.  As I noted, this is not a moncarchy. Trump works for us. We are his boss. Not vice versa. As I also noted, his history merits more than passing scrutiny. Red flags are everywhere. Ignoring them is not patriotic. It is subservience.  BTW, Hillary Clinton released her taxes, because she wasn't hiding anything.

Sounds like you underpaid. Please post the original documents so we can see where you made your mistake and you can file an amended return along with the money you owe.

This is great example of how right wing media distorts reality.   It's very simple:   don't communicate with Russian intelligence agents, and you won't be caught up in surveillance of said agents.

Simple concept, hard to understand?

The truth is -- both right wing and left wing distort to suit their own agenda.

Trump said in a presidential debate that it was because he was smart that he paid no federal income taxes.     Not that he had smart accountants, no, because he was smart.   So, apparently, per Donald Trump, he does have a thing to do with his taxes, particularly skirting paying them.

The smart part is hiring a good tax preparer. But, Trump doesn't do his own taxes. It's very likely Trump could see a year without paying taxes, for example if he borrowed more in that year than he made.

This is harassment, pure and simple.

I am not the President and it is not an IRS rule that my taxes must be audited.

If I were the President, I would certainly release my taxes so that there was no question I pay my fair share and to avoid even the appearance of impropriety.
That's what an ethical person does.

Pshaw -- it took Obama four years to finally release his birth certificate -- and even then -- he shouldn't have because it was no one's business but his.

Same with Trump's tax returns. It's obvious neither you nor Pepsi know exactly what business tax returns contain, but like most democrats (who also don't know), you're demanding them.

If you want all presidents to make their taxes public, you need to pass a law to that effect. The excuse that others did it so Trump should do it is lame.

I’m not.  I’m interested in Congress seeing them, in closed session.

I would like to add my name to what Holly asked...

Lara Trump: Merkel admitting migrants 'one of the worst things that ever happened to Germany

President Trump's daughter-in-law Lara Trump remarked Thursday that German Chancellor Angela Merkel's decision to allow migrants into the country was "one of the worst things that ever happened to Germany."

“When there was a march across Europe by a million people who wanted to get into Western Europe, Angela Merkel let them in,” Fox Business host Stuart Varney said during an interview with Lara Trump, an adviser on President Trump's reelection campaign, on the network.

“It was the downfall of Germany, it was one of the worst things that ever happened to Germany,” Trump responded. “This president knows that, he’s trying to prevent that from happening here.”

She certainly could have worded it a bit better, but the influx is causing a lot of problems in Germany - and other places. Your title is surely a violation of Godwin's Law, no?

Germany just tightened its rules and its deportation policies. They're beginning to hold migrants in tent cities and in jails, as they await deportation.

Merkle's ideas sounded nice and fluffy, but they didn't quite deliver as she claimed they would. Lara Trump is accurate, despite her lack of political correctness.

You're kidding, right?

There are legitimate concerns regarding Trump's businesses profiting from his position as President and how his business interests may be affected by new tax legislation. Also, a review would ensure that the IRS is does not give Trump preferential treatment. The American people have a right to know he pays his fair share of taxes, especially since he brags about being too smart to pay taxes. The same law was used by Congress to discover that Nixon cheated on his taxes by almost $500,000. In addition, since he has refused to release his taxes like every President since Nixon, it may be appropriate to enact a law requiring elected officials to release their taxes; it's the responsibility of the Ways and Means Committee to determine if there is a need for a new law.

What is it you believe can be found in Trump's tax returns that would indicate he would benefit from new tax legislation?

Be specific, if you can, because any legislation that eases up on business taxes would affect business across the board -- not just Trump. There's virtually nothing to discover in his returns that would make your statement correct. Certainly a reduction in things like Capital Gains taxes would benefit Trump, but you don't need to see his taxes to know that -- all you need to know is that he has investment properties. Ditto for virtually every other tax law.

The excuses I've heard - to date - for wanting to subpoena his returns are all bogus - including your excuses.

The idea that the IRS is giving him preferential treatment belongs squarely in the realm of pointy-hat conspiracy theories.

the President is not an ordinary citizen  ::)

you don't care who he owes money to is incredible - that means you don't care who can extort him, who can black mail him or who can influence him.   Because if it's not clear already Trump's #1 concern is Donald Trump, not the American public.

That's baloney, and not even very good baloney.

Tax returns do not list creditors.

You should know that.

He's filing accrual, I'm sure, so it will list accounts payable and accounts receivable as both debits and credits, respectively, but it won't list who he owes money to, or who owes him money.

Time you started a side business so you understand taxes.

Good Lord!  Now you don’t even know what “oversight” means?  Or “legislative”?  This isn’t a grand jury investigation.

You continue asking the same question even though it has been answered.

As with most issues, this one has gone right over your head.

There is no valid reason to subpoena Trump's taxes, which is why the Treasury Department did not comply, saying it was unprecedented and perhaps unconstitutional.

Forcing a citizen (politician or not) to turn over private income tax returns to the public -- just because the democrats are STILL upset that Trump won, must stop immediately. "Oversight" doesn't cut it. No President's returns have ever been subpoenaed before.

What is the matter with democrats? They've gone completely off their collective rockers. This level of hatred isn't just unhealthy -- it's frightening. It's reaching a fevered pitch, but the law must come first. If they are successful in getting the President's returns, they will have opened a Pandora's Box and all of us will suffer. Nothing happens in a vacuum.

You don't have a clue what kind of madness you're ignorantly backing.

Not a clue.

Actually it is against the law and the constitution for a president to obstruct justice, impairing the due and proper administration of justice and the conduct of lawful inquiries, or contravening the laws governing agencies of the executive branch and the purposes of these agencies.    The blue part is article II of Nixon's impeachment charges.    I'm not sure where you get the idea a president can obstruct justice or the constitutional oversight powers of congress  ???

Then riddle me this -- why wasn't Obama impeached?

He obstructed right and left. Why no impeachment process?

You don't know what you're talking about, but if you'd read Mueller's reasoning -- you'd find out.

I'm sure you felt this way after the 13th Benghazi investigation.

If you will recall, I did not support those investigations, and likewise, I do not support Cumming's subpoena of Trump's tax returns.

That's private information and there is no legal reason to try and attain it. It's a small thing, but what happens here -- can happen to you and I.

Cummings is cutting his own throat on this one. He has no legal right to Trump's returns.

So many pointy-hat conspiracy theories all rolled into one thread.
