That the US trade deficit with China is now 43% larger than when Trump took office or that none of you mopes appear to know why the US trade deficit with China is now 43% larger than when Trump took office?

Try to be specific.  :-*

You're denying that the US trade deficit with China is 43% larger than when Trump took office? Why would you do that?  8)

Again, Hook. It's you who need to be specific. Are you asking me how the fact--that the US trade deficit with China is now 43% larger than when Trump took office--affects me or how the fact--that none of you mopes appear to know why the US trade deficit with China is now 43% larger than when Trump took office--affects me?

Four years ago you were convinced that reducing the US's trade deficit with China would help make America great again...as if making America great again would affect your life some way or another. What changed?  :)

Simply asking for links to back up your claims.

The U.S. monthly trade deficit increased by 5.9% to $67.1 billion in August. This was the highest monthly level since August 2006, when it was $68.2 billion.1 That's a worrying sign for U.S. businesses and job growth since it means that U.S. imports increased more than exports.

U.S. exports rose to $171.9 billion but were outpaced by an increase in imports of $239 billion. Exports reduce the deficit while imports have the opposite effect.

Both exports and imports have dropped since the COVID-19 pandemic, but exports have fallen more. Exports are down almost 18% since February 2020, while imports dropped 3%.3

Annual Trade Deficit
In 2019, the U.S. trade deficit was $576.9 billion, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). The U.S. imported $3.1 trillion of goods and services while exporting $2.5 trillion.

The deficit is lower than in 2018 when it was $579.9 billion.3 One reason is that the dollar strengthened between 2018 and 2020.4 A strong dollar makes imports cheaper and exports more expensive.

While large, the deficit is still less than the record of $763.5 billion in 2006

Here's the question again, Hook.

Why is the US trade deficit with China now 43% larger than when Trump took office?

Hook is the reason for the existence of signs like this:

Hook will take this as "it only mentioned gum", and since it did not specify anything about the urinal cakes-bon appetit.

Links to the fact that you obviously don't know why the US trade deficit with China is now 43% larger than when Trump took office? This thread is a link to that fact, Hook.

Or is your sealioning and gaslighting in this thread actually a direct result of you not even knowing where to look in order to compare month-on-month deficit figures?

Or is it that you don't actually care about US deficits?

I keep forgetting that I'm talking to someone who's cheering for a guy who instead of reducing the national debt to zero in eight years has actually added $4.8 trillion.  ::)

If you can't provide the links for you argument just say so.
Again notoc. Why are you so concerned with our election ?
What is your angle?

My argument? The is no 'argument,' Hook. I asked a question. Here it is again:

Do any of newsrake's mopes know why the US trade deficit with China is now 43% larger than when Trump took office?

If you know why the US trade deficit with China is now 43% larger than when Trump took office then say so and tell me why the US trade deficit with China is now 43% larger than when Trump took office.

If you don't know why the US trade deficit with China is now 43% larger than when Trump took office then say so and tell me why you don't care that the US trade deficit with China is now 43% larger than when Trump took office.
