For that matter, so is asking someone how they feel about female circumcision.
--It is. And if someone was reluctant to expose their views on it, I would respect that. But then they wouldn't really have much of a case for objecting to being forced to pay for it.

What's the point? I wouldn't believe your answer even if you gave one. You are untrustworthy.

--People said the same thing about legalized abortion not too many years ago.

The inevitability of safe, legal abortions in this country was widely accepted nearly a hundred years ago, though the reality took somewhat longer. I suppose that "not too many years" is a relative term, but certainly it hasn't been within your or my lifetime.

--Why not? Male circumcision is. Are you accusing the populace of being sexist?

It's silly little throwaway questions like that last one that reveal how truly little you care for rational, grownup conversation.

Male circumcision got a foothold in American medical practice largely through some questionable statistics and research, and is practiced today as widely as it is not for any religious or even cultural reasons, but because it became a medical fad, long ago, and has been slow to die out.

--I didn’t suspect you would. You don’t come across as a religious type.

If someone like you thought that I did, I would probably worry about myself.

A. Yes, but only if yes means the same as no.

Q. Mornac, why do you think 98% of Catholics are acting contrary to Catholic teaching?
A. Crickets

Q. What about you, Mornac? Have you ever acted contrary to Catholic teaching and used contraception?
A. While I was a Catholic, the answer is no.

Did you have a point?

You asked:

Quote
Do business owners deserve to have theire arms twisted into spending their money to do what the government wants them to?

Now, you've answered your own question - yes, apparently they do.

--Yep.
--None. Did you have a point?

The point is that business owners have their arms twisted by government all the time.  It goes with the territory.  It's a part of existing within a society.

The point is that business owners have their arms twisted by government all the time.
--Does that make it right?

It goes with the territory.

--Really? How much Federal arm-twisting did the businesses that existed in American society suffer from in 1780?

There's nothing wrong with it.

That's simply incorrect.

Not much, but our society has grown progressively more complex over that time.
