Let the children foam at the mouth.

They aren't ready for adult conversations anyway. Maybe we could get Pepsi to start a kiddie forum and confine Velleity and his two little buddies to it.

Although I tend to generally agree with the sentiments, although not in such a "strong" manner, I don't think this sort of thing helps create productive discussion.

That goes for much of what the other side says also, of course, but this happens to be a good example.

It's only "Treason" when the other guys do it.  When you do it, you call it "cool, calm and collected dissent."

In what way do members of the "Tea Party" hate equality?

We can start with that one.

Well, it wasn't my post, and I'm not sure what was in the mind of the person who posted it or the person who made the sign, but from my perspective I would say that TEA Party members generally oppose gay rights, and the rights of those of different religious bents.  I believe that most of them likely opposed allowing the Islamic Center to be placed near Ground Zero, even though they were well within their right to do so.  I think most are also against asking people like Warren Buffet and Mitt Romney to pay at least the same percentage of their income in taxes that the rest of us do.

What rights have Tea Party members suggested stripping away from homosexuals or people of different religious beliefs (which presumes all tea party members share the same religious beliefs).

I am not sure what that has to do with equality, but it seems to me that people have as much of a right to express disapproval of something they find offensive as others do to epress their approval of it.

You do realize that most Tea Party members are in the same income bracket as "the rest of us", don't you?  I think it would be more appropriate to say they don't want the government to punish success with oppressive and punitive tax rates. If Buffet and Romney should be forced to pay the same tax rate as "the rest of us", shouldn't the 46% of the population who will pay NO federal income tax this year be forced to do the same?

The issue is really opposition to the idea that the wealthy should pay a HIGHER income tax rate than "the rest of us".

Observer,

You have been an apologist  for racism and elitism since your first posting. Your tea bag nutjobs were not protesting when the cause of our problems were creating the problems we face now. In fact your tea bag nutjobs were  supporting everything that created the mess they now claim they are fighting against. You can continue deying what the tea bags truly represent all you want, but we don't have to. And since you cannot answer questions asked of you, why don't YOU stop asking others questions.

From what I understand, you and John are the only "teabaggers" on the forum.
