--Government school grad, eh notoc? (I guess it's a little bit more pronounced when the government in question happens to be a Protestant Monarchy.)
I was taking the piss out of both your "Stephen Hawking would be euthanized at the age of 21 in the USA" nonsense, and your inability to participate in any discussion without reference to the Catholic Church.

I'd ask you to comment on the percentages quoted in the first post but, in view of the skewed statistics you yourself consistently offer up as fact, what would be the point?

Q. What about you, Mornac? Have you ever acted contrary to Catholic teaching and used contraception?
A. While I was a Catholic, the answer is no.

I guess we're not going to get a link to the "United Nations International Health Organization" web site the "data" for this thread came from huh?

I take it it simply does not exist.  Another notch in the feather of the Investors Business Daily

To be fair, this may not have even been an article in the rag.  Ivan offered no link because he likely obtained it through a chain email.

I searched the IBD for the 'recent article' Ivan's chain letter claims to have quoted ... nothing there.

Sticking "United Nations International Health Organization" into google returns 153,000 results every single one of which references the chain letter, which appears to have been circulating since 2009.

A poster over at snopes tried to unravel it. http://message.snopes.com/showpost.php?p=1279034&postcount=17

(Average Male/Female) Life expectancy for people aged 65+
                  U.S.          18.85 years
                  UK            18.75 years
                  Canada      19.8 years

So (suspending disbelief at Ivan's chain letter), assume both sets of data to be correct; OECD figures show the average positive thinking US senior citizen self-diagnosing "excellent health" for a full 36 days longer than their negative thinking UK counterpart, before they are both dead. Leaving the average Canadian senior citizen an extra 346 days in which to answer the question "How you feeling?" with "It could be worse."

http://www.oecd-ilibrary.org/sites/health_glance-2009-en

I didn't mean to suggest any veracity in Ivan's numbers. I could have stated that with better precision, but that is what I meant to say when I said "bullshit aside".

I should have prefaced my comments by saying "Aside from the fact that the post is total bullshit . .."

Good grief, if someone is going to go to the trouble of just making shit up ...

I didn't mean to suggest that you did, vel. Your post just prompted me to go look for some actual statistics with which to compare what looked like wishful thinking on the part of whoever cobbled together the 'facts' which Ivan dutifully posted.

Other than the fictitious "United Nations International Health Organization", the thing that actually caused me to think it might all be bullshit was the use of 'England' in the so called statistics rather than 'United Kingdom'.

Check this last set of statistics!!

The percentage of each past president's cabinet
who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet.
You know what the private business sector is a real-life business, not a
government job.  Here are the percentages.

                     Obama.....................                  8%

This helps to explain the incompetence of this
administration:
only 8% of them have ever worked in private business!

This bit of bullshit has been debunked as well

27 percent of Obama’s Cabinet has what we consider pretty clear private-sector experience. And broader definition that includes private-sector law and consulting work -- much of which involved representing businesses -- kicks the percentage up to two-thirds.

the source for this part of this mis-information piece is apparently... Glenn Beck, furthered by Michelle Bachman.. sigh

We did a little digging and found that the claim is based on a study by Michael Cembalest, the chief investment officer for J.P. Morgan Private Bank. In a Nov. 24, 2009, column titled "Obama's Business Blind Spot" and published on Forbes.com

So, perhaps IBD rehashed and reprinted the Forbes' story as its own and the author of the chain letter referenced IBD's hack job as if it also included all the rubbish stats? The dates would fit.

Cembalest said he has "written 250,000 words in research over the last decade, and every single thing I've ever done — except this one chart — was empirically based on data from the Federal Reserve" or another official source. "This is the one time I stepped out into making judgment calls, and I assure you I won't do it again. ... The frightening thing about the Internet is that people copy one chart from what you write and then it goes viral. So I've learned a lesson here that these kinds of issues are best left addressed by the people who practice them day in and day out."

-lesson learned by my former associate at the JPMorgan Private Bank (worked there 4 years  Cool )

This reminds me of a John Osbourne anecdote, in which someone throws a brick that hits him in the back of his head causing Osbourne to turn around and shout, Missed!

This can be tested. Within what percentage of threads have you posted and not made reference to the Catholic Church?

What you seem to be saying here is that he is not opposed to simply making things up (as well as importing what others have fabricated [cf. the very first post]).  That does not really answer why he hasn't come here to defend his post, unless you wish to suggest that he has only a finite about of bullshit at any one time.  Well, either way, we all did a nice job on the thread of demonstrating excactly how full of shit he is.  Very amusing thread.
