You know he's gonna do it; don't you?

I'll be surprised if he doesn't declare himself Supreme Leader and abolish Congress.

Barack Obama has told America’s allies that the United States will attack Iran before fall 2012 unless Tehran halts its nuclear program, a time frame that suggests Obama is willing to use war as a re-election campaign tool to rally the population around his leadership.

A subscriber-only report by DebkaFile, the Israeli intelligence outfit which has been proven accurate in the past, reveals that shortly after the end of NATO operations in Libya at the start of this week, “President Barack Obama went on line to America’s senior allies, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Israel and Saudi Arabia, with notice of his plan to attack Iran no later than September-October 2012 – unless Tehran halted its nuclear weaponization programs.”

According to the report, the window of opportunity for an attack before Iran moves the bulk of its nuclear processing underground is quickly evaporating.

Obama’s directive contributed to the flurry of reports this week about NATO powers putting their Iran war contingency plans on standby.

Hawk boy doesn't need any motivation to get involved in a war. He's a born warmonger (as long as he himself is thousands of miles out of harms way).

that narcissistic son of a bitch would burn down an orphanage if he though it would get him one firefighter vote.

He is a cancer on America and needs to be put into remission.

What happens if the war comes to us rather than us to the war overseas this time?

Well, we're usually WAY ahead of everyone else when it comes to getting into international "scrapes," don't ya think?  Wink

You know the last president we have had who actually KNEW war on a deeply personal and close encounter himself was JFK. Bush Sr. has a swipe at it...but nothing like Kennedy in the Pacific front and severely wounded at that.

He also lost a brother and sister during that war.

So, he wanted to be careful in Vietnam ultimately.

Obama has no idea what he might get us into at this point anymore that Bush jr. And both of them are similar in that they pose with platitudes without understanding the ramifications of what they are truly saying or what their policies lead to really..have led us to be involved in. Ironically, they are so similar yet from different parties.

So, I think before we expand any war effort we need a president who hates war enough and knows how awful it is to NOT WANT us  to go war just for political or economic gain.

Which candidates are opposed to a war with Iran?

If Obama were lead to believe we could achieve a quick victory over Iran then maybe that would  motivate him to do it for political gain.

However, our experiences in Iraq and in Afghanistan, even in Nam, should tell us there is no quick and conclusive victory to be gained from getting into it with Iran.  Unless taking out the nuclear capibilities is a victory of sorts.

Israel delves in proactive defense moves and in surgical strikes, so let her take care of the matter while we get our country back together.

The way it is developing, I look for us to be involved in a Syrian action long before we strike Iran, unless Iran makes the first move on us.
Why else are we moving thousands of troops into Israel?

We actually think Saudi Arabia is a friend of ours Huh?
Perhaps a fair weather friend to the western countries, that is, as long as they buy Saudi oil, at Saudi determined prices of course.

I think we are seeing in Saudi Arabia a situation that is similar to other ME Islamic nations. The reigning power, in this case the royal family, is walking on eggs trying to keep the Sunnis and the Shiites in line.  When you add in some extremists like the Wahabis, the nutjob sect that OBL was part of, then you have a tinder box.

The pattern of hard line autocratic leadership is typical in the ME.  Look at Iraq with SH, Libya with Gadhafi, Eypt with Mubarak, and Syria with Assad. As cruel as those depots were, they did keep the people in line, probably with some very harsh suppression measures.  The downside is the suffering and deaths of so many civilians, but the upside is that we weren't over there doing their dying for them, Iraq being the exception.

I want to trust the Saudis, and yet can't get used to the idea that a country that is the epicenter of the Islamic religion, what with its annual pilgrimmages to the most sacred place of Islam, is actually pro western and friendly.  In past wars the Sauds have made little overt effort to resist or participate, and Gulf I comes to mind, so in this respect the Sauds don't seem to be sponsoring international terrorism against fools like us that do their bidding.

But who really knows what the secretive royal family is up to?

Maybe they figure they can buy their mercenaries like they buy their labor, in the form of Asian immigrants.  Maybe we are the dumb asses and need to be buying our mercenaries.   Roll Eyes
