It's probably my fucking fault...

*Carving Another Killed Forum Notch In Penis*

Well, I shit you not, talking to a lot of old NOPC members now over at your own forum, many if not most date the beginning of the decline of NOPC to your leaving it, and it kept going downhill from there. The ejection of the erratic-yet-essential-and-hilarious Beanz was another red-letter day.

Not to infuriate Observer, but remember when we were having back and forth Forum Threads?  Answering each other on their own forums?  LOL.

There was an issue where *I* was fucking around with his password (allegedly) and after a quick examination and pleading from me that I didn't even know how to touch his fucking password, he finally acknowledged that he had forgotten the password.  ROFL!!!

I feel really saddened by this, even though Doug drove me and many others out of there recently. That was a superb forum in its heyday, with a lot of first-rate people there.

Unfortunately, a managerial decision must have been made to make conservatives of a more vocal sort unwelcome there and become a more 'moderate' forum. First the appointment of vel as a mod, a farcical decision that had a predictable end, and then the even more disastrous appointment of the much smarter and cannier doug, who finally succeeded in driving so many established members out by the irresponsible abuse of his powers that the rate of daily posting dropped very sharply and suddenly.

Add to that the ridiculous amount of spamming and uncontrolled bots infecting the place, and the end was inevitable.

I predicted it all just before my departure, but by that time it was only stating the obvious.

This is what happens when you lose site of what you are and what you're trying to do. They lost sight of the fact that that was a conservative board where liberals were welcome to join, not a 'middle-of-the-road' board where conservatives had to keep looking over their shoulders to keep from having arbitary sanctions imposed upon them by doug.

And doug, if you're reading this: Good job! now you can brag to all your lefty friends how you infiltrated and brought down a forum full of stupid, overly-trusting, naive consevatives! You really scored one for the team! Mission accomplished! Angry

He once said he was being paid to moderate.  Was that true?  He got on my case and I just quite going back as I don't need his pontificating.

Here is the message I get when I go there...

I can think of a dozen, or more, reasons for that message.

Grin  That's odd.  The message I get is "dream on cocksucker!  Get out of here and don't EVER come back!"  Cry

The most successful men I know will tell you that they are only successful because they are able to accept ‘no’ and not take it personally. Again, unsuccessful men take a ‘rejection’ as a personal assault on their inner child. Don’t make this mistake.

That is not correct.

Well, I think just about all of those assholes would welcome here even after all of the chickenshit backstabbing that has taken place.

Of course, there would have to be a little teasing they'd have to suffer...

I don't know why the site is down. It could be anything from a denial of service attack to a software problem.

With regard to whining and sniveling of a few members who were deeply offended because we had a moderator who was more Liberal than Conservative... I invite you to go fuck yourselves. Polaris cried like a little girl because Doug was a Moderator. That was in fact, his stated reason for leaving. Foodserver just didn't like the idea of any standard of conduct being enforced, whatsoever. That is unfortunate because they were both pretty good posters when they didn't have their panties in a wad.

NoPC is a very lightly moderated board, but it IS moderated. If people are not adult enough to accept that fact, they can go elsewhere. No single poster can make or break a forum. Badnews was removed because he had reached the point where he believed he WAS NoPC. He was wrong. He can be a lot of fun to have around and does possess some great insight into a lot of issues, but when you start challenging the people who actually run the place and pay the bills, you are going to lose. He challenged Wendy and she kicked his ass out into cyberspace.

People like Polaris think they should be able to say whatever they want to whomever they want whenever they want, and do so without repercussion. Well, a forum is just like any other community. Eventually, you flap your gums one time too many to the wrong person and you get the shit slapped out of you for it. That is just the way it is. If you can't accept that, find a new hobby.

LOL.  Would you like to hear *MY* version of that story?

Okay.  *clears throat*  Here goes.

Wendy, aka "She Who Walks Behind The Tumbleweeds" in some circles, told me to do something.  I did it.  I think it was to STFU.  But that wasn't "good enough" for her.  I had to publicly acknowledge on open that I was going to STFU.  But, you see, at that time, the option of "turning off the jibber jabber" of posters was available...even that of Admins.  I had turned her "off."  So the ironic part was not only had I STFU, I had essentially STFU SO much, I couldn't even read what she was saying.

I was amused.  Still am.   Grin

Observer says,

Foodserver just didn't like the idea of any standard of conduct being enforced,

This is not an intentional distortion of my attitude but I would like to mention that I didn't have a problem with standards being enforced the problem I had was with us not being allowed to question or criticize any decisions in an open forum.    The excuse given for this was to present a happy face for visitors but that didn't explain why there could be no discussion in the forum to which visitors had no access.  The real reason was the oldest reason.  The people in authority wanted to protect their delicate egos from ridicule or the need defend their decisions to us mere members.

Once it was clear to the moderators they were protected from any embarrassment all of the abuses Polaris described were inevitable.  Nixon finally got fed up I guess and with the same predictable results.

My other objection was that the policy was clearly in violation of the rules written and (AFAIK)in place to this day.  It was exactly, to the third decimal point the same strict constructionist argument we've all seen Observer make literally thousands of times.

Respect for the restraints upon authority is for other people.  When Observer is personally in charge there are other "more important" considerations...

What beefs did I have with the moderators at the time?  Not much really.  No one bothered to ask.  But it was pretty obvious which way things were going to go once those in charge acted principally to protect themselves from ridicule.  I'm sorry about JPT, Nixon and Typsy but hardly surprised.  I'm honored the alligator ate me first...

The ejection of the erratic-yet-essential-and-hilarious Beanz was another red-letter day.

I heard a rumor about that.  I had a hard time believing it, though.  He must have done something tragic for him to get sodomized from there as he was highly loved.

OMG!  Any moderator THAT soft that needs to be protected from harsh words really aren't 'adult' enough to be in charge of a bunch of maniacs.
