There is a bill in the Senate that is attempting to keep torture alive as an interrogation technique. The National Defense Authorization Act is being debated in Congress and if passed, American citizens could be detained without a court hearing anywhere in the world. President Obama stated he will veto the bill if it should pass. Is Senate Bill 1867 threatening the US constitution? You won't even attempt to answer my question because you know you can't. What "god-given" right did those special little darlings(you know, the 6 million "chosen" ones) have? On the other hand (and back to the only dimly remembered original thread topic), I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss a genuine threat to Americans' liberty and Constitutional freedoms simply because some folks like to cast it as Black Helicopter stuff. Our government is getting closer and closer to classifying every square inch of the planet as a war zone, and every person - American citizen or not - as a potential terrorist, subject to assassination or indefinite detention without charge. That's not paranoia or partisan rhetoric - just a calm assessment of what is actually happening.
