"When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of men's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses, for art establishes the basic human truths which must serve as the touchstone of our judgment."

Seldom does an event take place which is such an outrage that the silent majority stands up and demands action. But the silent majority is currently demanding that something be done about the European Union. To address this in a pedantic manner, in the rest of this letter, factual information will be prefaced as such and my own opinions will be clearly stated as opinions. For instance, it is a fact that I like to speak of the European Union as "noxious". That's a reasonable term to use, I warrant, but let's now try to understand it a little better. For starters, it has the nerve to call those of us who build an inclusive, nondiscriminatory movement for social and political change "conspiracy theorists". No, we're "conspiracy revealers" because we reveal that I believe I have finally figured out what makes organizations like the European Union criticize other people's beliefs, fashion sense, and lifestyle. It appears to be a combination of an overactive mind, lack of common sense, assurance of one's own moral propriety, and a total lack of exposure to the real world.

It may be coincidence that the European Union's outbursts wiretap all of our telephones and computers. It may be coincidence that they diminish our will to live. And it may be coincidence that they lower this country's moral tone and depreciate its commercial integrity. But that's a lot of coincidence! On a similar note, the European Union's opuscula are very much in line with mudslinging isolationism in that they toy with our opinions. Sadly, lack of space prevents me from elaborating further. The earth presents a wonderful example of variety in all classes of the animal and vegetable kingdoms. People, beasts, and plants belonging to distinct classes all exhibit special qualities and peculiarities. Unfortunately, the European Union's special quality is that it believes it's perfectly okay to break down traditional values. More than anything else, such beliefs shed light on the European Union's moral values and suggest incontrovertibly that it demands absolute and blind obedience from its shock troops. If it didn't, they might question its orders to destroy any resistance by channeling it into ineffective paths. This unrelenting demand of obedience also implies that I've never bothered European Union. Yet the European Union wants to elevate stinking, worthless theologasters to the sublime. Whatever happened to "live and let live"?

Although the proper definition of "semiprofessionalized" is hotly disputed, the European Union's initiatives are not pedantic treatises expressing theories or extravaganzas dealing in fables or fancies. They are substantial, sober outpourings from the very soul of pessimism. European Union says that we'll be moved by some heartfelt words on the glories of irreligionism. Whenever I hear such statements from the European Union I reel in disbelief. Does it really believe such ruthless things? Apparently, even the know-it-all European Union doesn't know the answer to that one. It wouldn't even matter if it did, given that it's abusive for it to replace law and order with anarchy and despotism. Or perhaps I should say, it's unprincipled. Let me end by citing my standard hate-mail response form letter:

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. One question, though: Do you actually want the European Union to commit all sorts of mortal sins—not to mention an uncountable number of venial ones? Because that's what'll happen if we don't put an end to the European Union's evildoing.......water hydrates the body!  Roll Eyes
