Tea Partier Hopes To Run Ad Attacking Keith Ellison’s Muslim Faith

Conservative Tea Party activist Gary Boisclair is mounting an unusual bid for Congress in Minnesota — as a Democratic primary challenge, in the solidly Dem district of Rep. Keith Ellison. And along the way, he hopes to run an attack ad targeting the incumbent’s Muslim faith.

Boisclair told the area news site Patch.com that the ad is not running on TV yet, but he hopes to do so “once my coffers get filled.”

“Congressman Ellison swore an oath to defend the Constitution — on a Quran,” Boisclair says in the ad. “The Quran says Christians and Jews are infidels. The Quran says Christians are blasphemers, who should have their hands and feet cut off, and that they should be crucified, and killed.

“Do you really want someone representing you, who swears an oath on a Quran — a book that undermines our Constitution and says you should be killed? I’m Gary Boisclair, and I approve this message.”

Stick your red herring where the sun doesn't shine.

Gary has my vote, any day any time.  It is time that you and your rump ranger buddies be shown limits.

How does this address anything other than the stupid melding of your homophobia and islamophobia?

Is there still such a thing as "The Tea Party?"

It seems to me this effort to re-brand the radical right has faded into the sunset, other than some periodic infusions of more Koch brother money and perhaps more organizational efforts by FoxPAC.

Well, the fact is that the baggers were primarily nothing other than the right wing of the right wing.  WHat we are witnessing in the primaries are exactly like the things we witnessed in the seante race in Nevada in 2010 and the house race in Rhode Island last year.

I don't think there ever was such a "thing" as The Tea Party.

It was a closely meshed group of people who were assembled for a certain function to effectuate the transfer of power on November 2, 2010, and that function was accomplished.

Will they rise again for 2012?  Probably.  They are very intent on ensuring Obama is a One-Term President.

They are going to be disappointed.

Maybe.  Maybe not.

You might be right.  You might be wrong.

Oh please. The transfer of power? You're being ridiculous again.

What exactly has been accomplished in the last year? Your teabagger governors are the most unpopular governors in the nation and they're setting off recalls and nullifications of their radical legislation. The left is actually gaining momentum and you have a slate of alleged presidential candidates that is more reminiscent of a clown car than anything else.

I can't wait for those flip flop ads to get going against Romney. It's going to be like shooting fish in a barrel. Even I could make a devastating montage.

they were also intent on having one of their own oppose Obama.   looks like they will get Romney instead.    so are they going to rally around a guy who (was) pro-choice, (was) for health insurance mandate, believes we aught to do something about climate change, etc, etc?

Your prospects right now. . .

not so good.

So why shouldn't we be rubbing you noses in it? What good is it to have "conservatives" looking like the complete fools that you all are if we can't let you have what you have coming to you?
