Bank Revolt Underway: Focused on Nov. 5, 2011
2011 October 19
Posted by Steve Beckow

A bank revolt appears to be underway, people withdrawing money from big banks and, in some cases, getting arrested. Here are several videos on the movement. It’s interesting that, if you try to view these videos or any others on the same topic from Youtube, most of them will not play due to “invalid parameters.” There are too many for which this happens to think it could be an accident. Thanks to Bracha.

We closed our BoA accounts this week and opened at my employers' credit union. We weren't thrilled w/ the upcoming ATM/debit card monthly charge, and already weren't happy reading about all the other shenanigans.

I called up BofA the other day and "politely" asked them to wave my ATM fee and my monthly checking account fee.

Guess what they said?

"Of course, sir.  You are a valued BofA Customer."

I said:  "Thank you."

Lesson:  Be nice and they will help you.  Be a cocksucker and they will arrest you.

You actually thought Obama would let you drink the kool-aid for free Huh?

The banks have to recoup all that campaign money from someone.

I am not usually keen on demonstrators but maybe that is a good way to drive home the gripes of the people.  It is for sure their elected pols don't care as they are beholden to special interests that bought them their office in the first place.

Maybe we also need to start raising hell about sending our young people out to die in a damned sandpile for the sake of big oil and the defense contractors?
I think there is enough unity of opinion on this matter to be able to make a good stand on the issue.

How about raising hell about the ridiculous practice of sopping up imported crude oil when we have our own resources to tap?  I think there may be too much factionalism on this point to make a consensus but somehow we need to get off the imported oil tit.

How about the export of American jobs and the import of foreign labor and foreign goods at the expense of Americans?  Maybe a good ole fashioned boycott of major retail outlets and some pressure on the bastards that look to us to buy their imported stuff but look the other way for labor to make the damned junk?
Maybe we need to get tight fisted and just buy enough to get by on.  The Christmas shopping season is coming up, and for many merchants it is make or break for them. How about wiping their asses out this year, then maybe they will start listening to the people?  In my area the mall stores are usually walking on thin ice anyway, so let's demonstrate in the malls and tell them to stick their shit where the sun doesn't shine.

I haven't been inside of a BofA for years, and that's the only reason they charge you a fee, i.e. for the "privilege" of using one of their tellers.  If you don't use a teller to make a deposit, they don't charge you a fee of $8.95 per month thereby saving yourself $107.40 per year if you make your deposits via an ATM machine.

I have had a car loan from B of A and presently have one from Chase out of Fort Worth, but I have my checking account and savings in a smaller local bank that is part of a larger outfit, maybe out of KCMO.  Banks are like other businesses in that they merge and they come off with new ways to dime nickel the customers.

I don't use a debit card and simply pass a paper check when I need some more spending money. Someday I'll bet they start charging me a monthly fee for the checking account and for other little perks that have been free in the past.

Never happen, Ivan.

Michelle is already touting the merits of Target stores.  She doesn't give a shit about Americans either.  It is next to impossible to find an American-made product at Target stores.

You should know from experience that you have a better chance of convincing a woman to stop breathing than to stop shopping.

There has been a huge reduction in the number of banks that "give" free services, such as checking, anymore.  Like, about a year ago, about 75% of banks had free checking (with a certain balance), and now they are down to about 45%.

I don't foresee that number climbing any time soon.

I saw one bank yesterday that would give you a free account if you maintained a minimum balance of $55,000.

No shit? Really? It's like that EVERYWHERE in the country. You have to try really hard to buy an honest to gosh 100% made in America product-because you can't find them. Even American named products are made off shore. It's a very short list what's actually made in America. And you can't blame THAT on Barack or Michelle. Manufacturing jobs have been leaving the US for decades. Pull your head out of your ass and quit blaming Obama or everything.

The interest  they can  get from their government bonds must have fallen off.  It is for damned sure they don't hurt themselves with the interest they pay depositors.

If loan volume has dwindled then they are struggling to make expenses and keep people on board. It is for damned sure the stock they issue is not much count, so I don't think the stockholders are getting fat either.  I have pretty well quit screwing around with bank stocks.

And now with the new laws that prevent cash sales in certain instances...............go figure! Shocked
