If there is design, there is a Designer.

It's like an animated illustration of Aquinas' Fifth Proof of the Existence of God: Argument from Design

1) We see that natural bodies work toward some goal, and do not do so by chance.

2) Most natural things lack knowledge.

3) But as an arrow reaches its target because it is directed by an archer, what lacks intelligence achieves goals by being directed by something intelligence.

4) Therefore some intelligent being exists by whom all natural things are directed to their end; and this being we call God.

You rejected Thomas months ago.  You recently rejected the church.  Who cares what you "think"?

John, backing away from what, John?

Explaining to a Roman Catholic the existence of God, John?

No, your bullshittery about design.  It is utterly insipid, uninspired and, quite frankly, illustrative of what a dullard you are.

I assume the above is the words of Aquinas.  As to point 1, we now know about the forces that make natural bodies behave like they do.  I assume he was speaking of celestial bodies like planets, moons, and other pieces of mass.

I think that point 4 is presumptuous.

Why do you say that john?

The argument from design is ridiculous.  For instance, in its most popular form is assumes that the analogy between rocks and watches is literally true.
