George W. Bush should be blamed for the Valerie Plame scandal

I think it was Cheney, but I guess the buck stops with Bush..

For what it's worth, there was an article recently I read that said that Hussein was getting ready to import quite a bit of "yellowcake" from Niger...also that a lot was leftover from his previous shipments that was disposed of/

I don't know. I really don't trust the Plame story at all, regardless of what side one takes. Too WASHINGTON, DC hyperbole, imo.

When power corrupts, poetry cleanses, for art establishes the basic human truths which must serve as the touchstone of our judgment."

I think we need to let the dog sleep, so to speak.  We have plenty on our plate now and need to lean in to the load and move it forward.  Crying about the failures of the past admin. just won't get us to where we want to go.

Sure we need to question the policies that are being proposed but we also need to give our support to those that show promise of helping to lift us out of the crack we are in. Sitting on our asses and whining just won't accomplish anything but more obstructionism, which the Congress is famous for.

Bush may have been a good person in some ways but he lacked the charisma and the concern for domestic issues to be a first class leader for America.  The wot seemed to be an all consuming thing for him and when one looks at the size of our troops in the field and compares that to the larger efforts of the big wars then we need to put things into perspective.  As traumatic and expensive as it may be to us, the wot effort should not be all consuming and should not be such a burden on our psychic.  Islamic extremists  want their threat to overwhelm us and we need to realize that and to get on top of it.

Having said that, we need to be more careful about our military missions in the future and set priorities on which threat gets what resources.  We cannot be spending 4 years mopping up the aftermath of taking out guys like SH when a worst threat is elswhere, as in Afghanistan. I don't see Afghanistan being a winnable situation in the traditional sense, more like a control effort such as Vietnam or Korea.  Controlling the spread of Islamic extremism may be feasible but to think we can wipe it out with military power is wishful thinking.
