Obama administration refuses to act to provide drugs for nearly 10,000 people in 11 states that are on AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) waiting lists or have been entirely dropped from eligibility for access to lifesaving HIV/AIDS medicines, prompting fund requests to the Global Fund, Warren Buffett

WASHINGTON, Sep 15, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) today submitted an application on behalf of the United States to the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for an emergency grant of $50 million to end the ongoing AIDS drug crisis in the U.S. A similar grant request was submitted to billionaire investor and philanthropist Warren Buffett via letter. Currently, over 10,000 Americans with HIV/AIDS are on a waiting list or have been dropped by the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), the network of federal and state funded programs that provide life-saving HIV treatments to low income, uninsured, and underinsured individuals living with HIV/AIDS nationwide. With the Obama administration's refusal to provide for this care, an emergency infusion of funding is needed to reinforce the tattered AIDS safety net in the United States.

The Global Fund is an international organization set up to provide funding to poorer countries that do not have the financial or political ability to combat diseases such as AIDS and malaria. "The United States, with the sixth largest AIDS epidemic in the world, is unable or unwilling to meets the needs of its citizens living with AIDS. Emergency funding is needed to prevent this situation from further deteriorating," said Michael Weinstein, AHF's President.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation submitted the Global Fund application and letter of request to Warren Buffett only after efforts to persuade the Obama administration to transfer unspent dollars within the current health budget to end the crisis were repeatedly rebuffed.

"Despite a Congressional increase in funding that is helping, the administration refuses to take the steps necessary to ensure that all who need lifesaving AIDS treatment can get it.

This may be cold of me, but I  see this as a priority measure due to the lack of funding.  Maybe someone is telling the flakes that there are consequences to rump ranging?  My heart does go out to the innocents who have fallen ill due to circumstances beyond their control, such as being deceived by an infected partner. Hopefully these deserving people can get help from caring private sector people.
  
Funding this aid drug shortage amounts to giving a stamp of approval to the degenerate prctice that resulted in the infection in the first place. It does surprise me to learn that the friggin' socialist and champion of losers is not giving them the assistance they want. Liked someone said, they may not be around to vote next time.

When will the useful idiots learn that the government is not a dependable care giver because it is motivated by political avarice and not the desire to help people? It just amazes me how the friggin' flakes think.  They cannot buy their drugs and yet they expect the straight people to support their habits by keeping them alive.

I live in a house that was built by a flamboyant queer.  When the wife caught him in the sack with chauffer they split up.  She is still alive but he is out on boot hill, and you should see the monument to that bastard that was erected over his grave.  A common joke is that he had toga parties in the shower stall as it is big enough to hold at least four people.  We have a lot of fun fielding the jokes about that silly sob and his relationship to this house.

What "medical treatment?"

HIV "jumped" from apes to man, as far as anyone can tell, in the early 1900's.  Prior to the 1950's no one could "identify" what the cause of death was.

Much has been researched and reported on of the HIV "hoax."  One thing for sure is that there is an awful lot of money to be made "in" AIDS.  Mostly due to fear.

I take it that the vaccine was given to hunters as a routine preventive measure.  Sounds like polio was also a problem in the area. Off hand I cannot remember when the polio threat abated here in America, but I can remember getting the oral vaccine on a sugar cube at school, when I was in the seventh or eighth grade, about 1952 or there abouts.

We had a devasting flood in my home town in 1951, and that may have lead to vaccines as a precautionary measure.  I remember we were also given typhoid shots.
