Yes, he surely did blow it on this one.

There is a couple that comes to coffee, and she is 62 with her husband being 80.  The woman is in the early stages of the disease and is not only a delight to talk to but is gorgeous.   I sometimes wonder, what will she do if her husband becomes unable to help her as her disease progresses. On top of the alzheimers she also has small seizures.

I first noticed her because of her beauty and because  she usually carried a clip board.  I asked her husband if she took surveys, and he said no, she keeps her mind busy by working crosswords and other mental exercises.  I guess if you don't use it then you will lose it.

I asked her one day when she thought the disease set in, and she said it must have been about seven years ago when she drove back to Kansas from Colorado for a funeral.  She says she doesn't remember a thing about that trip.

An uncle of mine by marriage has the disease, and I asked him about his symptoms. He says he can remember things that happened a long time ago but cannot remember the near events. Needless to say he doesn't drive much for fear of not remembering the way back home.

Alzheimers seems to prey on older people, and it also appears to be related to diabetes.  Now that we are living longer we are seeing more of both diseases in the senior age group.  Hopefully medical science can in time prolong the quality of life for these folks until they can die of old age from other causes.

Heart warming story.  The hubby stays in there!

I had an Aunt that was the same way...She was sharp as a tack when remembering her youth but couldn't remember that she just finished lunch.

I did not know about the possible link to diabetes!

Mr. Robertson is an older guy that has seen better days.  Maybe his sense of judgement is failing, so what do we have to gain from dissing him?  I am not aware that he is much of a public figure anymore and is not running for office to my knowledge.
