Nothing has "always" been anything. However in the terms you're grasping for here there have been periods of time that were every bit as "slutty" or more.

These trends are cyclical and actually when the "sluttiness" is not overt it simply goes underground. So you're fooling yourself here. 

The current cycle as you call it is right at 50 plus years old and hasn't reached the nadir yet.  It is obvious that you are too young to remember how it was back before the sexual liberation after WW II. Tell me Methuselah, when will things turn back up? You are the knower of all things, so that should be easy for you, a piece of cake.

Our society now places less value than before on what we owe to others as a matter of moral obligation; less value on sacrifice as a moral good; less values on social conformity and respectability; and less value on correctness and restraint in matters of physical pleasure and sexuality.

You should have asked Joan first as she is the authority on all things of importance.    Some young people are amazingly intelligent and perceptive in spite of their youth, but the word fairy missed that part of her development.
