This is a snippet from a news item from this morning's front page.  It sounds good in that it is sort of a pay as you go stimulus plan. Wouldn't it be nice if this "tax cut" for stimulus purposes would become a permanent tax reduction?  The Obama people speak of a middle class tax break?  70 to 75 bllionper year for two years shouldn't be a budget buster if they can clean up the waste in what is already being spent.

Repeating my concern of yesterday, surely the tax returns for 2009, which will be filed in 2010, will allow for the reduced amounts or the stimulus.  It would be dirty pool to take it back after handing it out as a stimulus.

 Fatter paychecks
The Obama plan's tax cuts for individuals and couples would be a bit different from the rebate checks sent out last year by the Bush administration and Congress in a bid to boost the slowing economy. The relief this time around would be awarded by withholding less from worker paychecks. That provision would cost about $140 billion to $150 billion over two years.
