Very few stores I would buy gift cards to give this year. Except maybe the local grocery store.

I am asking for gold coins in my stocking, and not the chocolate kind, either/:D

Woolworth?  come on that company has been around for 100 years, it can't fail!   Grin

On a related note, if in NYC make a point to visit the 1913 "Cathedral of Commerce", aka the Woolworth Building.    You'll never see a more richly detailed office building, or one fashioned as a medieval cathedral.  Built with the profit from Woolworth's 5 and 10 cent stores, in lower Manhattan.

I was never very keen on those sacks of gold doubloons as a kid, they always contained the cheapest chocolate. What Brits call 'cooking chocolate'.

That's funny. I always thought dark cooking chocolate tasted better than some commercial chocolate bars...I am fond of bittersweet, myself.

Great phptos, peps.

An amazing building.

I don't think Woolworth ever occupied more than a couple of floors, the rest were leased - must have made the family a fortune in rent.

I was just reading about this guy, John Paulson (no relation to Hank), who has made billions for his hedge-fund shorting UK banks...

So, maybe there is a key tip here...how to short and when to short/
