I can remember the very first time the Left decided that "the Rich should pay their fair share".

now THAT is effing old

If there was a contest, I hereby declare myself the winner although anyone who thinks they can come up with something more ancient than that is welcome to try.  Fair warning, you would need to accompany it with some carbon 14 dating...
The most successful men I know will tell you that they are only successful because they are able to accept ‘no’ and not take it personally. Again, unsuccessful men take a ‘rejection’ as a personal assault on their inner child. Don’t make this mistake.

Can you remember pulling up to a gas station and having the attendant pump
$.50 worth of gas?  I did that often as a teenager.

We must be about the same age.  I remember pulling up to a gas station with a five dollar bill and asking for a fill up, wondering how much change I'd get back...

I'm the only guy I know who actually did quit smoking because of the money.  The end of 73 they went up to 38cents a pack 50cents in the machines!

I drew the line!  Eight days of cold turkey hell and I quit almost before it was fashionable to do so.  We were smoking in banks, supermarkets, government buildings, doctors offices, college class etc.

For some reason the seat belt thing always made sense to me.  Day one from 16yrs old on, I used that seat-belt.  In those days it was just a belt, no shoulder strap and no "reminding" buzzer.  You either did it on your own or you didn't do it.  When you were a passenger and you put on your seat belt, you had just insulted the driver!

Too bad!  I insulted a lot of drivers in those days...

To this day, people are annoyed because the seat belt buzzer is always going off when I drive.   Why?  Because I started the habit on my own and I put my belt on AFTER I start the ignition and before I put the car in gear.  All of you Johnnie come latelys  developed the habit when you were "forced" to by the warning buzzer.

Some of us old guys didn't need a degree in physics to figure some things out...

Do you think you have a right to force what you want on other people?

How did you get that out of what I said...If people want to smoke they should be able to, but that doesn't make it good for you, and that it shouldn't be a thing of the past and something you should stop doing.

I made that statement because the subject is in the category called History, and personally I think smoking should be a thing of the past, that is not forcing what I want on other people.

Have you ever lost someone who had lung cancer  and other related diseases...or saw the struggle they had living with those diseases. This is defentively a practice that needs to be a thing of the past.

I'm so old....

I can remember carrying a pager

I can remember X10 pop up ads

I can remember hanging out in AOL chat rooms

I can remember Napster

I can remember phone booths

I can remember buying the Sunday newspaper

I can remember using the newspaper to search help wanted..

Some of these things are not so long ago like aol chat rooms, pop up ads, pagers, or napster. So whoever wrote that is pretty young.

Here is one:When dialing only four digits of a phone number was necessary to make a local call.
How about when the Sunday paper was a quarter.
How about I remember Ann Landers, or Dear Abby.
How about Ed Sullivan and What's My Line? on Sunday night.
The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show Feb 1964
Jim Morrison and Doors on the Ed Sullivan Show.
I'll bet there are some people here remember when you  had to call the operator to make a long distance call and when was the last time you dial zero on your phone except to make a collect call

Remember the milkman?  Fresh milk everyday.

Telegrams?  I made some good tips.

Doctors making housecalls?

Shooting marbles?  First lessons about gambling.

The three stooges?  ____, _____, and __2.
