Your Church, like every other Church, is full of self-serving, lying, cheating, abusive hypocrites, protected from the top down and the bottom up.

Actually the flushing out process began back in the 1970s when the training of priests began to be transformed to the new version of the rite.  You see thesingle common denominator among those guilty of sexual abuse is that they were trained before the reforms of the last council were in effect.  This is the case for 70% of abusers.  Also, if you graph the instances of abuse, the numbers have been in steady decline since the early 70s.  In fact they dropped off precipitously around 1972.

Mornac and his brand of reactionary want to march back bravely before the reforms and recreate the conditions in which sexual abuse was at a much higher rate.

--Actually we've been going at it for quite some time but the cabal is much bigger and more powerful than most people can imagine. It's only in recent years that we've been able to pry the cover off of it. Things seem to be going in the right direction now, but we're not taking that as a reason to let our guard down. The pressure stays on until every last one of these miscreants is out of any position of even the remotest type of authority. Hopefully many of them will end up in prison where they belong.

Actually what happened was that the church created a lot of reforms.  When these were deployed the number of abuses decreased.  If you read the study on the sexual abuse problem, you will see that, in fact, the instances of abuse have steadily decreased since the early 70s.  Mornac assumes that the reforms caused the abuse, it actually created the conditions to make it public.
