I want you guys to get more involved in what is happening to our water, and to the animals, birds and such here. Not sure all the reasons why the numerous deaths are happening globally, but I do know that there is an ongoing catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico that most do not want to discuss.

It needs to be resolved with bioremediation that would restore the water and soil and get rid of the toxins. Please support my efforts.

I have been working on this without pay since the end of April.

Thanks.

What can someone do to help not being local their?   (Besides opposing off shore drilling, using less oil, etc)

For starters, ask that corexit products be banned in the US as they are in countless other countries.
Ask that real restoration through bioremediation to kill the toxic VOC's and other oil/compounds in the water and soil be done and not these ridiculous mechanistic churning over of the sand, etc...

Ask that help be given for medical attention to the victims of this disaster and that testing be done to see what is in their systems as well as promote safe de-toxification for those afflicted.

Ask your congresspeople to keep our waters safe from harm and that more stringent controls over oil companies' safety policies be created and actually followed through...

just some suggestions.

Thank you for the article Lucy.  It explains that a better alternative to corexit is available and is called dispersit.  At least you did more than complain about the issue and have provided me with something to work with. I would say that the reasonable plan of attack is to promote the use of Dispersit and other similar chemicals.

In the following post one can see that Nature has its own ability break down crude oil, which beats a dispersal method.  I suspected that such a
capability exists because after all, crude oil is basically a product of Nature.

Dispersing the spill doesn't get rid of the oil, which is a shortcoming of the dispersal agents.

The above link points to an  article that explains how natural forces can and do break down an oil spill.   It seems then that the thing to do is to use containmengt rings to keep the stuff away from the shoreline until the natural processes can complete their work.
