I do think the talk of big losses for the dems is premature.   the more people learn about what the teabag/GOP party actually wants to do, the great middle won't go for it.   Even if they do win, let them bring on their agenda.. the dems will gain it back next cycle.

The simple fact is their agenda is too radical, has little basis in reality, and would create negative consequences for the economy and most people.   Plus they pissed of the latinos with their anti-immigration rhetoric.   This is not a long term winning strategy.

There are a few things that might be going on here. I would never accuse "conservatives" of being beyond the idea of push polling. Would you?

But also we have this idea of "likely voters". There are some problems with this idea. For one thing younger people tend to not have land lines these days, so they don't get counted as "likely voters". For another think "conservatives" do tend to be likely voters but, as we all know, their demographics are on the wane.

Are people as pissed off with Democrats as "conservatives" want to believe? I don't think so. I am certain, though, that people aren't all that pleased with "conservatives".

So we shall see. The election might be interesting.

It will be interesting.  Unfortunately, the conservatives have an advantage.  They can simply trumpet the call to reign in big government spending and promise to keep taxes lower.  That simple rhetoric, without any further explanation, will surely sway a lot of voters.  The burden is then on the Dems to explain why that can't happen, or isn't a good idea, or is a false choice, or whatever.  The explanation they must engage in is much harder than the simplistic rhetorical approach that is available to the opponents.

The burden is on WE, THE PEOPLE to not fall in with "conservative" bullshit. The proof is in what "conservatives" have done, which is the greatest shift in wealth from the middle class to the top 1% in history. This was no accident.

If we don't see the obvious then we are beyond redemption and we end up getting what we deserve.

And you think that's actually going to happen among the masses?   Roll Eyes  Sound bites rule these days.

I don't know whether it will or will not. I suspect it will not but I don't know.

You heard so much about the crowds Glenn Beck drew even though so much of that was Astroturfed, and nothing about the crowds Obama is drawing. Hence the photos.

I don't know SpaceCadet. Maybe there is hope? Or maybe we have to pay a huge price again?

Actually the conservativers don't have any advantage. We all know how this mess came to be, and Obama is offering a choice, which is a good strategy. Do you want keep going this way, even if we don't know the outcome, or do you want to fall back on what you have seen fail?

If we are stupid, we will fall for this again. And this time the damage will not be repairable when it's over.

Because there is not going to be an work done once republicans gain control. They will simply investigate everything Obama is doing and then try working to get him impeached. This is their plan. So you can fall for the smaller government lie, or realize their stated objectives that have been out on the table since Obama was sworn in.

Can anyone say COUNTLESS INVESTIGATIONS AND WASTED MONEY??
