My preferred candidates may not predominate in this particular election, but they have predominated and will predominate in the future. In the meantime those whom you would support are who? I'm not sure about the "DLC" label as my preferred politicians are Barack Obama, Dick Durbin, and Bernie Sanders among others. I don't totally dislike a real DLC'er like a Harold Ford, but I'm not a big fan of his either.

Whom would you support? I don't recall ever even hearing from you the name of a candidate you admire. All I ever recall hearing from you is the sound of amazingly clumsily thrown rocks missing your targets.

I think government did everything they could do when they outlawed segregation, and eliminated most of the Jim Crow laws.

Government made it possible for every American to reach his full potential. 

Take a long look at IM2.  I respect him for what he has achieved
on his own.  For some reason IM2 doesn't sit on his ass waiting for government cheese and handouts.  He goes out and gets it for himself.

I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

How is this in any way a response to my statement?  The EEOC, for instance, has historically been undermined by Republican Administrations.  It exists to insure, for instance, that the civil rights of citizens are not violated in the hiring process.  This has nothing to do with "handouts".  Try to stick to the subject.

Words written on paper mean nothing if they are not enforced, or are enforced in a lax manner. I don't think the goverment made the penalties for breaking these laws harsh enough and I don't think they are enforced with the vigor they should be enforced with.

Why would I call them DLC as clearly they are not. As to being 'beloved' Hmmmm, most of them manage to be civil most of the time even with when they strongly disagree.
