What does the notion that you can plug the idea of "God" into every unknown do to one's intellect?

It certainly doesn't encourage humility and it certainly doesn't seem to promote empathy, given what we see of those to subscribe to this notion.

IM certainly seems to have a excellent grasp of humility and empathy, and he seems to me to be pretty hard core in his religious beliefs.

Maybe. I haven’t analyzed too many sects to discern their motivation. I suppose it isn’t out of the question.

I find this odd because the limited information I have on Christ suggests that he was all about things like humility and empathy.

Why would a religion that purports to follow the teachings of Christ edit out things like humility and empathy?

--I don’t know. There are so many sects who have edited our Bible that it’s hard to say why they do it in any given case. I think it’s primarily rooted in relativism. If something in our books doesn’t jibe with the way they wish to live their lives, they simply take it out or change it to suit their lifestyle.

Why would a religion like this go even further and rationalize their lack of humility and empathy, even suggesting that the giving of humility and empathy somehow harms the recipient?

What the few who ever actually look at what is said here really do is go back to their respective forums and post what you say in the "jokes" forum.

If I were a conservative I would take what is said here and learn from it. Because the joke is you. Everything you guys have said would work has failed. You don't seem to get it, you have been wrong about everything. It's time for you to shut the fuck up until you change your  approach and methodology.

The Bible itself is an edited document.  How many autograph copies [this is a technical term for a text in the hand of the author] do you think exist of any complete book of the Bible?
