58% now support Impeachment Inquiry

New Poll Shows 20-Point Increase in Support for Impeachment Inquiry—Among Republicans

A new poll out Tuesday from the Washington Post and the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University shows dramatic shifts in support of the impeachment process, with 58 percent of the country now saying they support the impeachment inquiry and nearly half—49 percent—saying they support removing Trump from office.

The level of support for the impeachment process predictably differs along party lines, but none of the recent indicators are good for the president. “Since a July poll by The Post and ABC, there has been movement toward an impeachment inquiry among all three groups, with support for the inquiry rising by 25 points among Democrats, 21 points among Republicans and 20 points among independents,” the Post notes. Trump’s Ukraine phone call—which occurred in July but wasn’t reported on until September—has clearly altered Americans’ perspective on impeachment. It’s unclear how much Trump’s unhinged, all-caps response to growing impeachment pressure has changed opinions in the moderate corner of his own party as well as among independents.

Polls are only as good as those people you ask. WaPo's poll was asked using 98% Liberals, such as college students.

You can't say "58% of the country" when you didn't actually poll 100% of the country.
All truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

We likely won’t see much more movement in the 58%.  That 38% have not been moved by anything that has happened in the last 3 years.  If the 49% edges above 50%, that will start being quite a big deal.  If that 38% started to decline, that would be a huge thing.

Yes, you can. That's was polls are for. Random sampling corrects for errors. I doubt the poll surveyed 98% liberals. That's just complete nonsense. Please post your source for that.   ::)

The 2016 election.

The polls in the 2016 election were generally correct.  They predicted Hillary to win the popular vote by 3% on average, and she won it by about 2%.  Some of the state polls however did somewhat underestimate Trump’s support in those states.  A few of the ones that were expected to go for Hillary by a thin margin ended up going to Trump, but not by much.

They also suggested Clinton was going to beat Sanders for the nomination.... Pretty sure Clinton got the nomination.

So what was the point again?

The polls suggested otherwise.

I think you need to go back and read your original message again, and no, I don’t believe they did.

The only reason Clinton beat Sanders was because of interference that was caused by the DNC.

I would like to know where that 98% figure came from. I cannot believe Washington Post would abandon standard random sampling and go out of its way to poll just liberals. That is not what a poll is.
