I hear that DC is jolted over this.  I personally was thinking along the lines of possibly administering 50,000 volts to each member of congress and the senate.   What would be the down side?   Negligible.

Sure peps. .......... You have no clue.

Rasmussen Reports told you all along that it was a much closer race than most other pollsters predicted. We weren’t surprised Election Night. They were. Now Real Clear Politics has posted the final results, and look who came in second out of 11 top pollsters who surveyed the four-way race.

1)  Our final poll was the closest among all pollsters who correctly picked Hillary Clinton to win the popular vote. We had Clinton up by 1.7%. In reality, she won the popular vote by 2.0%.

I remember when the left loved Rasmussen.

See.  The thing is ...if you want to continue to survive as a polling company...at some point you gotta tell the truth Otherwise you're a dead duck.

I like Nate Silver, but keep in mind he was WAY off during the run-up to the 2016 election. He bases his analysis (in part) on media polls and those are often skewed. Dagon is a big fan of 538, but he too read too much into their analysis, so his predictions were just as lousy as Silver's.

The real judge of American sentiment is at the ballot box. While Hillary received more popular votes, Trump carried the electoral college by a large margin, which means Trump won support from a much larger geographical region. That's what the EC is set up to do -- keep mob rule from occurring by giving citizens in all states a fair shot at representation rather than allowing a highly concentrated populous from lording it over citizens in all states. Personally, I think we've outgrown the presidential system, but, I doubt we'll get rid of it any time soon.

2 million more people voted for Clinton than Trump.   The will of the people was stymied by the electoral college.

Polls are only as accurate as the people that are asked.

Luckily, the Electoral College was put in place so that California, and New York don't get to decide every election. There was and still is a reason for it. The will of the people was answered when Hillary lost.
All truth passes through three stages:
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Maybe it's just me but I couldn't find the breakdown. I saw "Show more polls," but that didn't include it, and the word, "show" only appeared one other time on that page -- as a part of the word "shown".
But, I did scroll down and see other president's polls that seemed to be on a similar track. Again, though, I'm not so sure including media polls is productive. That's what skewed the 2016 predictions.

Yes, nearly 2 million, but that's less than 1% of the vote, and our system was designed to disallow mob-type votes. What reason would any state have to join (or remain in) the union if they didn't have a representational chance at electing the President?

The EC is our saving grace. I hope we never lose it.

so it suddently dawned on me.  WHERE did these alleged 2 million POPULAR votes come from?   all over the country?   well.  nooooooooo.

They came from overwhelmingly leftist sanctuary city states.  NY, Maryland, California...and THIS my friends is why we use the electoral college.  What kine 'a fools do you think we is?
