I was thinking they were going to do that?

Bunning wants the unused stimulus money to be used to extend unemployment.

Is the saame Jim Bunning who used to pitch for the Tigers?  I used to style my pitching after him.

This "unused stimulus money" is a joke IMO.  Seeing that it has to be borrowed, or has been borrowed in the first place, the damned stuff didn't exist before being borrowed.

It may be appropriate to use it for extending the benefits rather than pissing it away on other frivilous things, but the way the pols talk about it as if it were an untapped surplus somewhere pisses me off.
It is not like we got a wad stashed somewhere that can be used for this effort without hurting some other spending project.

I think the unemployed need more help but I wish the pols would stop feeding us bullshit about money they don't have on hand or didn't until it was borrowed. Given the size of the borrowing and the large amount of interest that would accrue I suspect the funds are spoken for but not actually borrowed until they are needed for a specific reason.  That approach may be too simple for the gubmint but in civilian life it would save paying interest on funds that would be stashed and left idle for a time.

Then contact your congressperson and tell them to tell Bunning to STFU.

The government is broke. We cannot fix things by printing more money or adding more trillions to the national debt-load. What do you want for us as a nation really? I would love an explanation of your dream for our country.

................... The proper working of government cannot go forward because .................

because BHO's preferred policies spell utter ruin for middle America. Repubs who are relentless in their opposition are doing EXACTLY what We the People elected them to do. It is a VERY fascistic idea to think that BHO's usurption of the Presidency somehow entitles him to advance his agenda unopposed. Repub congress critters swear allegiance to the Constitution NOT The Leader Obama.

You are changing your spots.  A few weeks back you claimed to hold some other odd ball philo.
Cafeteria politics?  Whatever agenda you support dictates which ideology you choose.  Like Vel, your credibillity is zip. That is the downside of peddling bullshit.

I went into a senior center yesterday for a pit stop and it is funny in a way how the older people criticize Obama and his admin.  It is practically unanimous.

She just did.  The cost of such a program is a facet of the issue.

As demonstrated by the slowing of the rate of unemployment, the turn around of the economy, etc.  Yes, horrendous.

i am and have always been a socialist.  The form socialism takes is another matter altogether.  Mutualism is a form of socialist economics.  Your ignorance of the political political spectrum does not mean i have changed anything.

Actually the topic is that a Senator is interfering with people getting unemployment benefits.  You, of course, did not know one Senator could even hold up the process, so i do not hold you responsible for being ignorant of the topic under discussion.
