"When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of men's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses, for art establishes the basic human truths which must serve as the touchstone of our judgment."

Then the Obama Regime will claim that the number of people collecting unemployment benefits has decreased, leading the sheeple to think things are getting better.

Watch and see.

The regime is at least giving lip-service to the problem.

If you guys have a problem with unemployment benefits being extended isn't your problem with the guy holding that up?

Quote

Jones, 29, is among the 15,000 Illinoisans whose unemployment benefits expire today because of a filibuster by U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) Bunning is using Senate rules to block a vote to fund extended benefits for people nationwide who have exhausted the basic 26 weeks of coverage.

How is it you all fail to address the actual issue?  There is legislation ready for the voting but this one guy is obstructing it.  You want the bill to pass, stand up to the right.

I would fall over dead if they ever did address the actual issue. Failing to address issues is what they do.

Not sure what you're saying here John. Either way I like calling Makesenseplease a lying, duplicitous weasel.  Shocked

What are you suggesting should be done?  Does one vote stop the thing from going forward?
I think that you a Vel need to spend more time discussing the issue at hand and less time dissing other posters.
What are you two anyway, the forum hatchet men?

You've got a point there, John.  As I said, I don't know how it turned out.

Is Bunning the issue or is funding the issue

What's wrong with using unused stimulus money?

You idiots that live in RED states should call your Senators and get them to force that idiot to drop his hold.

Does one vote stop the thing from going forward?

i think you could use a primer on Senate rules: one hold can bring it to a grinding halt.

Bunning, specifically, and Republican obstructionism in general are the problem.  The proper working of government cannot go forward because these idiots want to set records for saying no.
