The trend is definitely moving in the right direction.   Racism is largely a result of ignorance.   Today things are less segregated.   Kids today are more likely to have ethnically diverse friends, while yesterday's kids were much more segregated.  Chances are white kids (or vice versa) who actually know people of different ethnicities won't be as racist as those who grew up in an "us and them" world.
