Post Election Results and Analysis
« on: November 07, 2018, 09:35:48 AM »
I'm pretty happy with it.   The president, not a politician, was pretty astute in his campaigning.   Wherever he went it appears his candidates prevailed.  Wherever Obama went and the Hollywood/entertainment types, they seem to have bit the dust.

This is a clear message.  The red Wave Held, the blue wave fizzled.

Now we get to see  how the dems behave in the house.   this means two years of everyone watching this corrupt bunch hold others to higher standards.  Oh and another thing.....it seems that the majority of the dems elected are said to be classified as moderates...except for little occasion-cortex and saunders.

Obama lost 63.  Trump only lost 24 34/35? it looks like?

Bloomberg and Soros, thankfully have lost loads of  money again.  that is a good thing.  So.  I can see some good things and am able to move along with this and my support of this president.

It was good to see McCaskill take a huge hit.  I think that her lies being exposed helped greatly with that.   She really is a sticky little smarm.

We didnt win everything but it most definitely was a blue wave.   GOP lost the house is pretty big.   Let the real investigations begin..

In the Senate, dems got ~6 million more votes, but still lost seats

The results pretty much go along with
history.

The party of the incumbent president tends to lose ground during midterm elections: over the past 21 midterm elections, the President's party has lost an average 30 seats in the House, and an average four seats in the Senate; moreover, in only two of those has the President's party gained seats in both houses. (Franklin Roosevelt, GW Bush.)

You're trying talk sense to people whose only motive for being here is to make you feel badly. These people have the emotional maturity of a 7th grader. They have no depth. They have no breadth. They have no maturity. They think of themselves as part of a team and you as part of some other team. They have no logic. They have no reason. They mindlessly barf up whatever crap is fed to them and have no idea what they have been a part of except they do seem to love the white supremacist part of their coalition of morons.

And of course it was a blue wave. We showed that we will not be suppressed. We are the majority and we will not tolerate their bid for minority rule.

it will be interesting to see  how this goes...considering the fact that every democrat who opposed kavanaugh lost their battle ground seats.

Obama loses again

Consider, of the three competitive races that Obama re-emerged from (quasi) private life to try and whip, all three lost.

Andrew Gillum, Sen. Bill Nelson, and Stacey Abrams were all supposed to be in unbelievably tight races. In the end, they all finished behind their Republican opponents (Abrams could still just barely make a runoff, but it doesn’t look good) despite Obama taking the time to rally for them.

On the one hand, this may just reflect poor selection of candidates, though that demonstrates his efficacy as a whip as well. But on the other, Obama fell into the trap of being Obama in the era of Trump.

Democrats won the House, but Trump won the election

Let the message be clear: Voters had a chance to repudiate Trump and they did not. Much of the commentariat has said this year’s elections are about who we are as a country and what America is all about. Well, a lot of America seems to be about supporting Trump. The Democrats thought Trump’s negatives would be enough to propel them to victory. The 2018 results show it is clear they need a different plan if they think they can win in 2020.

The midterms largely followed the conventional wisdom of how midterms are supposed to go. The president’s party lost some seats, but by and large what happened was far from the blue-wave rebuke that Democrats and their allies in the media said was going to happen. So if the midterms were supposed to be bad for the GOP and all eyes were on Trump this year, the big question is whether anything about Tuesday night’s results supports the idea that Trump was a weight on Republican candidates. Is Trumpism a political blight on the Republican Party? The answer is that Trumpism is a net plus. What that says about the GOP and America is unclear. But for the purposes of the 2018 midterms, Trump is a winner.

oh my gosh what whiney bbabies.  YOU GOT THE HOUSE and you STILL can't be satisfied.

Via Daily Caller:

CNN political commentator Van Jones called the midterm election results “heartbreaking” on Tuesday night as Republicans won two key U.S. Senate seats.

Republican Tennessee Rep. Marsha Blackburn is projected to win her Senate race against Democrat Phil Bredesen while Republican Mike Braun ousted Democratic incumbent Sen. Joe Donnelly in Indiana.

“This is heartbreaking,” Jones said. “It’s heartbreaking. The hope has been that antibodies would kick in. That this sort of infestation of hatred and division would draw a response from the American people, really in both parties, to say, ‘no.’”

“That does not seem to be happening tonight,” Jones admitted. “It’s not a blue wave but it’s still a blue war. We’ve gotta continue the fight forward.”

good grief you'd think the dems didn't get the house!

You’d think they lost the House they’re so unhappy there was no “blue wave” and they didn’t get the Senate. So now they’re trying to find ridiculous justifications. Priceless.

Via Twitchy:

After yesterday’s midterm elections, the Democrats regained control of the House, but the Republicans increased their number of Senate seats. It wasn’t the big “blue wave” many on the Left were hoping for, and Hillary Clinton’s former campaign manager has the excuses ready to go.

There’s that “collective popular vote for House & Senate races” thing again, and it never stops being funny:
