Off to the big city this morning for a fun day at my home office. Not!!!  At any rate this is what I am listening to as I head out the door.

This wasn't actually on my ipod this morning but rather on the radio.  The song has been stuck in my head all day.  Any ideas on what 'brass in pocket' means?   Money?

From the lyrics it seems so.  Money as a means to make a person noticed.

Speaking of brass...

Beastie Boys - Brass Monkey With Lyrics

Brass Monkey...it is about the drink.  Richard Cheese did a cover...i hope someone can find it

Of course it is a far cry.  Dude it is lounge?  Who doesn't love to lounge against the machine?

It is a play on the phrase rage against the machine.  Rage against the machine being a band whose name means to direct rage against the system in which we live.  Lounge refers to lounge music.  Lounging against the machine uses irony to refer to all of those people who want to be against the machine and who use all sorts of descriptors for the machine but never understand the machine as it is.  In contemporary politics, this would be people like the tea baggers.

Chrissy's great.
Such power.

I often wonder what she thinks of the fact that Rush L. uses one of her songs ("My City Was Gone") as the intro theme on his show.

Hey Rei! How's it going?

I would bet that she's none too pleased but she probably doesn't own the rights.

Gotta love Ben Harper too.

I've been listening to this old standard:

Hi Vell.
Doing well, thanks.

I think Chrissy is probably perpetually pissed whenever she thinks of Limbaugh... her music as intro to 3 hours of lies and divisiveness.

Not as pissed as he is to write checks to PETA.  That is amusing.  But as i was reading lyrics i was thinking of another song about Ohio.

I played some music within a stones throw of the ocean. Here's a pic of my view.
