You know, because the wealthy don't have enough influence.  i had always wanted them to be forced to wear suits like Nascar drivers with their "sponsors" on them during campaigns.

Supreme Court: Campaign-finance limits violate free speech

The Supreme Court campaign finance ruling on Thursday means corporations can spend freely on political ads leading up to elections. The Thursday decision invalidates a part of 2002 McCain-Feingold campaign-finance reform law that sought to limit corporate influence.

This is a really sorry day, and might just be the biggest reason why we can't allow Republican douchebags to regain power.

Obama is probably jumping for joy.  His new buddies can donate as much as he is stupid enough to accept.

MSP,

Rather than smarmy remarks you should be upset about the loss of transparency in elections.

MSP,

i am thinking the beneficiaries will be right wing propositions.

I'm thinking the beneficiaries will be every politician in Washington.

Big money has a way of changing the way a man thinks.

MSP

All politicians may get some money but the biggest slice will go to the corporate shills.  The one thing that is for certain is that the average citizen will lose.

I totally agree with this statement.

As always the biggest slice will go to the corporate shills.

I'm a democrat for obvious reasons but when looking for corporate shills I think it best that democrats look at all the politicians.

We might just find one or two lurking in our own backyard.

hell froze over, I agree with you guys on campaign finance "reform", we need it

lets see if either or both would dare agree with me on something

#1. the MF bill was a piece of crap, it had more holes than a swiss cheese wiffle ball.
ippiekayee moth**fu**** limits on corporate direct donations  SO WHAT?
do you really think that rich tycoons let that get in their way?  is so, read the end of this post.

It was designed by (both) party hacks with the sole intent of allowing them and their party supporters to thump their chests as "reformers" but as a practical matter did nothing to actually help any 3rd party candidate, it just shifted their bottomless pits of cash to other channels

if you want real campaign reform, just require IQ tests, if you score less than 3 digits, you are too stupid to vote.

sorry, johnny,it's apparent that would bar you, but I'm sure they'd still allow you to wax philosophically on message boards in your boring dishonest manner without ever declaring candidate of choice....so you'd be just fine

The only thing that is required is full and complete identification of all donors and limits of donations from non individuals to 0.

Where does the Constitution give corporate entities the right to speech?
