good job making sure nothing gets done to the GOP.  We can look forward to health care consuming more and more of our GDP, making us less competitive globally, ensuring tens of thousands of Americans will die because they don't have health care, and protecting the insurance companies ability to throw you to the street if you get sick and have "pre existing condidtions".

Perhaps we should look at other countries that have government health care...How many people have died waiting for health care or denied health care because they were too old or terminal.

No one in the United States is denied emergency health care because of their inability to pay.

You suggested looking to other governments.  Here are several great charts for you.

1. Old age and healthcare: Japan who has a national healthcare system spends less that half our our expenditures per capita and has a life expectancy of about a decade longer.  They spend less; live longer.

2. Look at infant mortality.  We have the highest percentage of spending per capita and as a percentage of GDP of these industrialized nations and we also have the highest infant mortality.

We are paying much more than nations that have nationalized systems have higher rates of infant mortality and die younger.  That is a hell of an investment.
