I will have to look it up again because the issue was posted somewhere I read....but basically Interpol now has unresticted access to whatever they want to do in the US per executive order....Not sure what they want to do, though/

This might have something to do with finance, though....

--I don't get it johnhp. What does any of this have to do with last year’s Corpus Christi procession at your parish?

Q. Mornac, do you have any demonstrative proof that your god exists?
A. Yes

All it really is is an information collection and coordination agency. It has no arrest powers.

What do you mean be "free reign"?

Observer,

You know what she means, she needs to factoid on which to hang the paranoia.

Boffhole

For your words about me to have any weight you would have to be able to reasonably answer my posts and not flee from challenges.  You're gutless and always have been.

Observer,

If I knew what she meant, I would not have asked the question.

"Free reign" is a pretty broad statement. Interpol has a defined purpose. "Free reign" suggests a broadening of its powers, something I am not aware has happened. I have not heard much at all about Interpol interacting with US law enforcement agencies in any capacity other than intelligence sharing. If that has changed, I would like to know how and what the source is for that information.

Observer,

It is necessarily nebulous, delusional constructs almost always take this form.

With regard to Interpol, specifically, a recent executive order, signed on Dec 17, amended Reagan's executive order 12425 with regard to the provisions of the International Organizations Immunities Act (1945) that apply to Interpol.  These are specifically that sections 2(c, d), 3, 4, 5, and 6 now apply to Interpol.  If you are familiar with these sections they regard what are commonly referred to as diplomatic pouches (section 2) and various aspects of taxation (sections 3-6).  None of it involves any extra policing or investigating powers.

Like i said.  Paranoia.

We presume that the world will still be the same in 2012 and beyond....Not sure about what is to come, but I sense there are great changes to be made.

This is not based on any irrational fear for the future. I don't fear the future, really. It might be nice to have some transparency, though, right?

No one is arguing against transparency, as far as I know. Why do you keep bringing it up as if anyone was?

As for change your statement is rather meaningless. We have been in a period of progressively more rapid changes for quite some time. I don't know what the rate of change is, exactly, but awhile ago the changes of preceding 10 years were considerably greater than the changes of the 1,000 years before that. In other words not only are we experiencing great change we're also experiencing an ever increasing rate of change.

This is nothing new. It is not really open to any real debate. The real issue is how we're going to guide that change and deal with it. If you're Observer you just throw your hands in the air and allow the gap between the extremely wealthy and the rest of us just grow along with that rapid rate of change.

Tough shit for us, eh?

Always with the ad hominems Observer, and never addressing the issues or being accountable for your own bullshit.

Yes, I think losing 45,000 Americans a year is really rough. I think the fact that 62% of bankruptcies are precipitated by medical expenses even though many of those have insurance is truly a disgrace. I am quite bothered by these facts. Why aren't you?

Republicans fail to see that they have the lowest approval ratings of everyone in politics.

Unless they look at conservative polling data.
