This is where I get confused, Vel.

The Banks are paying off their loans.

General Motors has laid off thousands and given their executives their bonuses.

This happened at the speed of light.

As our fearless leader would say, "where are the jobs?"

Why are Americans still bending over and why is Mr. Obama standing there holding a jar of grease?

None of it happened at the speed of light. These were things in the making for decades.

Obama is standing holding a jar of grease? How so? What is it exactly he's supposed to do all by himself? Do you really think it's that easy to be president of the United States?

Obama gave out all that money, tarp is being repaid, executives are banking their unearned bonuses, and more Americans than ever are out of work.
This took less than a year.  There were no decades involved.

I have no idea what Obama is supposed to do all by himself.  He is not by himself.  He has surrounded himself with idiots.  Obama is the one who promised change for America.  He forgot to mention that it would be change for the worse.

I applaud Pres. Bush for leaving as well.   Wink    Even more, I appreciate not having heard from him since.  It probably wouldn't hurt for Obama to take that as something of an example now also.   Cool
Amen.  This openess crap on his part is screwing up my TV time.  I like the transparency thing in principle but a little bit goes a long way.  Like the Afghanistan buildup speech.  What a sham. Recently an video news item showed that preparations for the buildup have been going on for a long time now at an airbase in Afghanistan. A major effort is well underway to prepare to house and feed the new troops, even a huge sewage pond for the wastes.

To me that was a military decision that did not need a speech to implement.

TARP was Bush. TARP did not make any requirements of the executives and allowed them to do what they are doing now also. Increases in unemployment were happening with Bush. The economy crashed under and because of Bush. The unemployment numbers are here because of that crash. So then this was something that was the result of years, not months.

Wrong. Obama is cleaning up the mess of a bunch of incompetent idiots. Change is not going to come in 10 months. You refuse to access accountablity where it belongs. Instead you ignore what caused this and blame Obama.

The speech was the presidents way of informing the american people, which  is what a responsible leader does in any democracy.

Secondly, did you feel the same way when Bush decided to make a speech to the nation as he had troops hitting the ground in Iraq? Because he was already doing it, and did not take the time to explain why it needed to be done before he did so.

I'll give you credit for this: you've sure got those "conservative" talking points down.

Not really.  I thought less of Bush than I think of Obama.

If you don't believe me, go back to any post of mine before Obama was elected.

What makes you think I am conservative?

Look on the bright side of the bank bailouts.  If companies cannot borrow money they cannot undertake new ventures and employees have to be let go.  Our business community relies heavily on borrowed funds to finance their activities.  If TARP can help to restore the lines of credit then companies can again borrow and can again put people back to work.  It is my understanding that lines of credit are reopening.

This sounds good Ivan.  It sounded good before we spent all that money too.

Next time we should make sure the bulk of our money bails out the business community.

America prospers when the business community prospers.  When banks prosper, America seems to suffer.

Let's try investing in America.  Small business America.

Mom and pop built America the first time.

Let's see if they can do it again.
