I remember seeing the trailer for a movie a few years ago - it looked interesting and I always meant to catch it, but now of course it's long gone from the theatres and I don't recall the name or who was in it.

It involved a man who is kidnapped and held captive in an underground room for a long time - years? - but is well taken care of, and even given a television monitor to keep up on what's happening in the world.  Eventually he is released, although he never sees his captors, and he is, if I remember right, forced to go on some k...

She called the DOJ's approval on Obama's immigration move "reasonable," which will cost her a couple of votes, but other than that she separated herself from Holder's policies.

She has a good track record as a prosecutor and we can only hope that she doesn't start playing the role of activist if confirmed.

“You’ve asked how I will be different from Eric Holder,” Ms. Lynch told Senator Ted Cruz, Republican of Texas. “I will be Loretta Lynch.”

That could be enough to win her confirmation. Senators raised fe

I hear people throwing around this term. So I have to ask those who do so, do they really know what social engineering is?

People's WORLD

A radical third party? I agree!

by: John Bachtell
January 22 2015

Certainly, there's widespread disillusionment with both the Democratic and Republican parties. That's reflected in the latest Pew Research poll: 38 percent of voters describe themselves as independent, 32 percent as Democrats, and 25 percent as Repu...

Sarah Palin and her onetime fans on the right: It’s so over

They’re over her.

Sarah Palin’s odd, rambling speech last weekend before an audience of committed conservative activists in Des Moines has many influential voices on the right saying that the time has come to acknowledge that the romance has gone cold and the marriage is dead.

This is despite the fact that the 2008 GOP vice-presidential nominee told reporters upon her arrival at the event that she is “seriously interested” in running for pr

Outrageous, over-the-top personal insults are beginning to be the rule around here rather than the rarity, and I do not exempt myself from this criticism - I am guilty of tossing personal insults around, as well, and that has to stop.  When it comes to what is allowed to go in that regard, this is about the most liberal forum I, personally, have ever seen, but it has gotten ridiculous lately.  Relatively mild put downs and expressions of disapproval, disbelief and disgust are to be expected in this kind of informal discussion board, but using i...

I am pleased the first lady did not wear a headscarf in Saudi Arabia.    Why should she or any foreign lady visiting S.A.:  she's not Muslim.

Michelle Obama forgoes a headscarf and sparks a backlash in Saudi Arabia

Barack Obama was in Riyadh on Tuesday to pay his respects to the late Saudi King Abdullah. His visit, for ...
